The seed-eating birds do not care forthe suet, so for them there should be asupply of seed or small or crushed grainplaced out near house or barn in somewarm, sheltered spot, with a coverabove it to keep it from being buriedunder the snow. Unless the hordes ofEnglish sparrows can be kept away,they will monopolize the supply anddrive off the desired visitors. The shot-gun is the surest remedy, and it may be.
