A North German flintlock rifle with internal, covered lock, circa 1760 Heavy, single-stepped, round barrel with slightly flared muzzle. Smooth bore in 16 mm calibre. Iron flintlock located in the middle of the barrel axis, accessible from the top by means of a locked brass flap, engraved, iron closure button. Lock plates made from engraved brass at both sides. Full stock made from walnut (the butt with old worm damage) with nose made from dark horn, hand rests finely chiselled and chequered. Brass furniture with engraved rocaille decoration.
