GREAT LAKES, Ill. (Nov. 4, 2016) Recruits from division 016 receive guidance from a Basic Naval Orientation Instructor at Recruit Training Command on proper procedures and techniques for tying the bowline knot. BNO Instructors provide basic naval orientation to recruits throughout their eight weeks of training. About 38,000 recruits graduate annually from the Navy’s only boot camp.
