NASA Paresev-1 glider landing. Paresev-1 (Paraglider Research Vehicle) was designed in the early 1960's by NASA researchers investigating unpowered aircraft as possible landing systems. The canopy of the Paresev consisted of a flexible wing airfoil held by tubular steel frame. Beneath the wing, the pilot sat inside a fuselage and was able to control the aircraft with a control stick.
