Albrecht Durer (1471-1528) was a German artist well known for his prints and drawings of keen observation and rich detail. He was born in Nuremberg and had a studio there. Hans Sachs (1494-1576) was a leading poet at the German school at Nuremberg. This 1894 illustration shows Sachs (left) and Durer meeting and discussing items of interest to them both.
