A gilt silver small sword from the reign of King Maximilian I. Joseph (1806 - 1825), Stabbing blade of triangular section with ornamental gold plating and remnants of bluing at the forte. Fire-gilt, embellished silver knuckle-bow hilt with several French markings, with fasces at the pommel, on the shell guard a crowned, reclining lion. Chequered ebony hilt. Sewn leather scabbard with fire-gilt fittings, the reverse of the locket stamped "Wum(?) Speyer". Length cm.
