View near Kursalee

Kursalee is a village in a large plain near Simla with spectacular views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. The village which lies at an elevation of 2500 metres is on the much travelled route to the source of the Yamuna (Jumna) River and is close to the hill resort of Simla. The village is also a religious centre with a large number of Hindu temples. This view shows the Jumna (Yumana) River valley in a tranquil state after the torrential flow in the upper mountains.
