Europa seated on bull (=Jupiter/Zeus), with cherub holding a torch hovering above & flanked by 2 putti in water (BRD) field within an architectural, octagonal & godrooned central cartouche with (UPR BRD) S-scrolled cornice centered with female (?) mask, topped with floral festoons & (LWR BRD) military trophy consisting of coat-of-arms framed by cloth hanging with medal (honorific distinction ?), spears, standards & helmet topped by eagle; border framing the central cartouche, with spiraled ribbon enclosing a sheaf of laurel leaves & with acanthus leaves on outer edge; cartouche framed by acanthus leaves & enclosing scallop shell in corners The regularity of the weave & hatching point to the first half of 19th century.
