These flues should be built with fire-brick, and it is bestto have about six feet of the covering of the end connectedwith the fire-place arched over with fire-bricks instead of thel)erf orated iron plates,BO as to prevent thedirect flame from thefire from getting intothe oven, or burningout the plates.
