Terbert Loch Fyne
A seaport town in Argyll sitting between Loch Fyne and Loch Tarbert on the Kintyre penninsula. It joins Kintyre to Knapdale In the 1200s Tarbert acquired a castle which is the last in a series overlooking its harbour from the south. This was strengthened by Robert the Bruce, and later James IV captured it during his visit to the Western Highlands in 1494 from the Lords of the Isles and developed it further. It last changed hands in 1685, and later fell into the ruin you see today. It can be reached by the footpath leading past the old police station opposite the fish quay. Today Tarbert has become a busy market and holiday town with Lochgilphead to the North and Campbeltown to the South being the next Main shopping areas
