Halarachnion ligulatum red alga. This alga grows on rock, stones, shells and maerl in the subtidal zone, occurring at depths of up to 17 metres. This species is widely distributed around the British Isles. This specimen was collected in 1833 from Salcombe, Devon, UK, by Mrs Amelia Griffiths: a well known Victorian seaweed expert.
