Southern flying squirrel (Glaucomys volans). This species is found in North America. It has a furry membrane called a patagium stretched between its front and rear legs, which it spreads out in order to glide from tree to tree. The Southern flying squirrel feeds on fruit, nuts, insects, buds, mushrooms, mycorrhizal fungi, carrion, bird eggs, nestlings and flowers. Photographed at the Anastasia State Park in, Florida, USA.
