Beers, the captain of the cham-pionship Milwaukee team, and Poller of the Oshkosh Normalwere easily the best forwards of the year. Beers was the heavyscorer for his team, making 144 points during the season, arecord that will doubtless stand for some time. He played ahard, fast game, and none of the State guards seemed able toprevent his scoring. Poller was one of the shiftiest players inthe State and, in addition to his accuracy in goal throwing,played a strong passing and defensive game.
