Cloning cows, egg cells. Light micrograph of eggs (female reproductive cells) from a cow (Bos taurus) being used in cloning. The genetic material from these cells will be removed and replaced with genetic material from another cell. The work is being carried out at the Bio Sidus biotechnology company, in Argentina, which successfully cloned a cow in 2002. The cloned cows are intended to be used to produce human growth hormone (hGH) in their milk.
