It how-ever appears to be with Guttifersthat Rhizobols best agree. Inthese two Orders we find the leavesopposite and articulated at their base,hj^ogynous petals, a similar aestiva-tion, numerous hypogj-nous stamens, and exalbuminous seeds. The largeflowers of Caryocar caU to mind thoseof most Guttifers ; its inflorescence isnearly that of Moronobea; its fruit hasa relation to that of Mammea, andpresents, in that genus, as in severalotliers of the same Order, a singleseed in each cell.—Camb. in IT.
