During the nesting season of the Long-eared Owls in 1888 and 1889, it was notuncommon for me to lind two or morenests in a days tramp, and see at leasta dozen of the birds. But since thespiing of 1889, I havent seen but one ofthe birds, which was Oct. 24, observed the Owl was sitting onan oak log, eating a chipmunk he hadcaptured.
