London, UK. June 21th, 2016. Petros Elia, General Secretary of the United Voices of the World union explains why cleaners at the 100 Wood St offices have been on strike for 10 days. Managed by CBRE, the offices are mainly let to Schroders and J P Morgan and cleaners are employed there by anti-union cleaning contractor Thames Cleaning. Support at the rally came from other trade unions and groups including Class War. Thames spent over £20,000 trying to get an injunction to stop the strike against sackings and low pay, but failed though the union was hit by strict conditions and crippling legal costs. At the end of the rally they marched around the block and then went on to protest at CBRE's St Martin's Court offices. Peter Marshall/Alamy Live News
