D. (Knopf: $6). It is difficult to make clear the great valuc of Dr. Fritz Kahns monumental and magnilicent book on the most abused of all topics in modern (or ancient, for that mat- ter) life. This work he calls "Our Sex ; It is a large book of 459 pages, generously illustrated and handsomely made. Its goal, pei- haps a littlc over-simplified and over-hopeful can best bc indicated by this Quotation: "The goal, which is distliictly present as the supreme one to all who labor for mankind, and for the sake of which this book was writ- ten, is one and the same and is re- ligious in the deepest sense: to place man in harmony with godly nature. "If we will work' togßther in this sense, the married and the unmar- ried, parents and teachers, State, Society and church, to solve the sex Problem, then it will be solved. Then the present slaves of their impulses will become the rulers et their powers; unhappy lonely in- dividuals will become happy cou- ples; brothel visitors will become adorers of women. and those who niiscarry, fruitful mothers.
