This image may not be used to state or imply ESA endorsement of any company or product Dual satellite launch. Ariane 5 rocket launching from Kourou, French Guiana, South America, on 21 December 2005. The rocket is carrying two satellites that will be put into Earth orbit. The satellites are: INSAT 4A, an Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) telecommunications satellite, and the Meteosat Second Generation 2 (MSG-2) weather satellite. MSG-2 transmits detailed meteorological images to Earth every 15 minutes. It is a joint project by the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European organisation for the exploitation of meteorological satellites (EUMETSAT).
