This photograph shows the exterior of the Ashcroft Technology Academy. Lord Ashcroft is a financial backer of the ATA, which is a part of the coalition government flagship "English Academy" policy, encouraging schools to be independent and free of local authority control. Teachers at the school are obliged to sign a no strike deal as a part of the contract. The school management also refuses to recognize collective bargaining through national unions.
