. The Olympic Velodrome in Rome, built for the 17th Summer Olympics which took place in 1960 in Rome. The Velodrome hosted track cycling and field hockey events. It operated until 1968. In that year it was discontinued because of problems to its foundations. It remained inactive for 40 years until its demolition by implosion on 24 July 2008. 1960.
