Esfidan Village, Akhoond (Mullah) In Front Of Mosque

Seldom visited by foreigners, North Khorasan is a particularly photogenic province. Located in northeastern Iran, it is one of the most diverse territories in the country, largely reflecting the ethnic makeup of Iran. Kurdish speakers represent 46% of the population, followed by Persian speakers (28%) and by Khorasani Turks (21%). Esfidan (or Esfīdān) is a traditional village in Garmkhan Rural District, with a population of ca. 2,000 people and just over 500 families.
