Some of the 333 Koinobori, or Carp streamers, on display at Tokyo Tower ahead of Children's Day celebration. Children's day is a national holiday in Japan celebrated on May 5th. Originally a day for wishing male children both happiness and health it is now a day celebrating all children. At this time of year traditional Koinobori (carp flags or streamers) are flown from homes with each flag representing a member of the family.
