The ramp built by Jewish slaves at the order of the 10th Roman Legion, the Roman soldiers used it to conquer the fort from Zealots who found refuge on Masada after running way from Jerusalem during the Great Revolt, the Zealots, Rebels or Sicarii finally lost and died in the year 73 AD, The fortress of Masada was built by King Herod the Great between 37 and 14 BC, in the Byzantine times or 5th century AD a footpath vas carved on it so people could climb up the hill on it, this is an additional footpass to the Snake Pass, In the background the Judean Desert.
