Josika's or Chionanthus-Leaved Lilac.—From Transylvania. A fine, distinct species of tree-like gro\s'th, with dark, shining leaves and ])urple flowers in June, after the other Lilacs have done flowering. Esteemed particularly for its fine habit and foliage. S. Persica. Persian Lilac— Native of Persia. From four to six feet high, with small foliage and bright purple flowers. S. "Var. Alt>a* White Persiax Lilac.—Delicate white fragrant flowers, shaded with purple. A superb variety. S. Siberica Alba. Siberian White Lilac.—.\ vigorous grower; fol- iage small and narrow; flowers white with a bluish tint.
