GULF OF OMAN (Aug. 28, 2013) –Capt. Kevin Mannix, commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11, and Capt. Rob Osterhoudt, deputy commander, CVW 11, land on the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68) in an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the “Black Knights” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 154. Osterhoudt completed his 1,000th carrier arrested landing aboard Nimitz Aug. 28. Nimitz Strike Group is deployed to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility conducting maritime security operations, theater security cooperation efforts and support missions for Operation Enduring Freedom.
