Smethwick, West Midlands, UK. 8th August, 2018. A pool has been closed to the public as up to 45 birds, mainly Canada geese, have died in recent weeks after bacteria developed in a pool in Victoria Park, Smethwick, near Birmingham, due to the recent hot weather. A spokesman for the RSPCA suspects the birds died after contracting avian botulism. Peter Lopeman/Alamy Live News
