This differs from alba variegata by having the silvery varitga- tion along the center of the leaf, with an occasional spot towards the edge; very pretty. 50 cents. fvar. Thomas Hoj^g. This belongs to the HYDRANGEA OTAKSA. Hortensia section of the family, but it is a far more free and abundant bloomer than any other; for the florist, and for all decorative purposes it is invaluable; the flowers are of the purest white, of very firm texture, and are produced from July to September. It is as hardy as the old Hortensia ; requires some protec- tion in winter. H. paiiiculata grandiflora. Large Panicle-elovs^ered Hydrangea. A fine shrub, growing from 8 to 10 feet high; flowers white, in great pyramidal pani- cles a foot long, and produced in August and September, when very few shrubs are in flower ; one of the finest flowering shrubs.
