Panagia Gremiotissa This lovely church is built on the highest point of the main village (Hora), in Ios. It is a whitewashed church, very simple architecturally, with a white bell tower which has a blue painted little dome where a white cross stands. The purity and austere character of its architecture make this church a real pleasure for the eye. This typically Cycladic Church is recognizable by a beautiful palm tree standing on its side. The incredibly beautiful church of Panaghia Gremiotissa is the trade mark of Ios, which makes it also the most photographed site of the island.
