Demonstrators waved Palestinian and Lebanese flags and carried big patterns of the keys of their fathers and grandfathers' homes, which are now part of Israel. Some groups of young people tried to advance towards the border with Israel before being sent back by Lebanese security forces. The demonstration was attended by Palestinian and Lebanese religious leaders, Sunni and Shia. Representatives of the different Palestinian political groups and of the Lebanese parties led by Hezbollah also took part, as well as members of the Greek Parliament. A large number of children from the Palestinian refugee camps also participated in the demonstration and carried a banner with the name of the Palestinian town they should return to. The event was part of the Nakba Day 70thAnniversary which mark the time 700,000 Palestinian were dispossessed from their homes and land, in what is now Israel, during the 1948 war
