Hermanus Johannes Hamerslag (18/06/1853 - 24/03/1924) was a coal dealer and partner of Joachimus (Chiem) van Houweninge (24/03/1859 - 22/02/1936), also coal dealer, large land owner of the area on and adjacent to the Kwakkenberg and founder of the eponymous Villa
