170927-M-CA957-0058 HUMACAO, Puerto Rico (Sept. 27, 2017) Marines and Navy corpsmen assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (26th MEU), and Sailors assigned to Amphibious Construction Battalion (ACB) 2, conduct an assessment of Ryder Hospital’s medical and operational needs during Hurricane Maria relief efforts in Humacao, Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
