Proboscis aborted and non-functional; palpi with the 2nd and 3rd joints minute, aborted, and curved downwards ; frons smooth ; eyes large, round ; antennas of male hardly dilated towards tips ; thorax clothed with thick woolly pile; tibiae smoothly scaled, the spurs minute, the hind tibiaj with the terminal spurs only ; abdomen short and broad with some rough hair at base of dorsum. Fore wing rather narrow, the apex rounded, the termen evenly curved; vein 2 from long before angle of cell; 3 from close to angle ; 4, 5 from angle ; 6 from upper angle ; 7, 8, 9, 10 stalked ; 11 from cell. Hind wing with vein 2 from well before angle of cell ; 3, 4 from angle ; 5 obsolescent from middle of discocellulars ; 6, 7 stalked ; 8 anastomosing with the coll near base only ; the underside in male with the whole inner area from near base clothed with rough androconia extending into the lower end of cell and to vein 3. Head and thorax black-brown ; a golden yellow ring round neck and the tegulae golden yellow at tips; abdomen metallic greenish blue with the hair at base black-brown and the anal tuft orange-yellow; pectus below the shoulders and fore wings and the coxae orange-yellow; ventral surface of abdomen with white band.
