Biggin Hill, Kent, UK. 15th Sep, 2020. Battle of Britain Day is the name given to the large-scale aerial battle that took place over the south east of England on 15 September 1940, during the Battle of Britain, when the RAF scored heavily against the German bomber force. Located on the outskirts of London, RAF Biggin Hill played a key role in defence being a sector station for Fighter Command, with based fighters claiming many victories. A flypast honoured its past with a Hurricane and Spitfire flanked by The Blades team who work with the RAF Benevolent Fund
