WALLACK, Henry, secound coun-selor to Bishop Wm. Thorn of the 7thWard, Salt Lake City, Utah, is the sonof John Wallace and Elizabeth Ashleyand was born April 27, 1840, in FromeSomersetshire, England. He was bap-tized by John H. Kelson March 16, 1854,. and in 1858 he was ordained a Priest byElder David Mead. In 1861 he went toLondon, where he remained till May 12,1862, when he left for Utah, where hearrived Oct. 5th of that year. He fol-lowed various kinds of employment, till1868, when he purchased a business inSalt Lake City and manufactured can-dy. In 1885, in connection with , he bought the Utah CrackerFactory business, now known as theNational Biscuit Company, and he isstill successfully conducting that busi-ness. He has also been an active pro-moter of other home industries, and isinterested in the Utah Sugar company,being one of the original stockholdersin said company, and also in the Z. I. In 1889 he aided in opening up 614 LATTER-DAY SAINT the Teton Basin, Idaho, for settlement,and still holds interests there. ElderWallace has been an active Sunday
