UK’s tallest living Christmas tree is decorated and re-measured for Xmas. Tuesday 17th November the Elizabethan Mansion at Wakehurst, West Sussex Standing at 36m tall (around 110 feet) when last measured, the giant redwood tree at Wakehurst, West Sussex is the UK’s tallest living Christmas tree. For the past 23 years it has been lit to celebrate the festive season using over 1,800 LED bulbs. It takes a team of Wakehurst arboriculturalists, suspended from ropes and two cherry pickers from dawn until dusk to put up the bulbs and re-measure the growing tree.
