We thenbuilt a fire in the fireplace of the shelter-house, where we roasted wienies andcheese, and discussed our tramp. Wedecided to spend two hours next Christ-mas in taking a census, just as the oldermembers do. Two papers, The Bird World, edited byClass. No. 923, and The Horace MannBird Star, edited by Class No. 1940, havedone much to keep the members on the. 282 Bird - Lore alert. There has been considerable rivalrybetween the editors as to which would getout the paper containing the most inter-esting bird-news. These two classes alsocelebrated Bird-Day by preparing twooutdoor bird-plays. The children worecostumes made of crepe paper to representthe birds whose part they were plays were to have been given in of identification nearly every morning,especially during the migratory period.
