The first of these is the galaeopithecus, or flying-lemur, which, from its strong resemblance to the. Galaeopithecus, or Flying-Lemur. bats, has been arranged with the Cheiroptera. It is, how- ever, a lemur in all its essential characters, but it has its limbs connected by thin skin, which they stretch out, as the framework of an umbrella supports its covering.
