D. PERRY & CO.'S ILLUSTRATED ONONDAGA LETTUCE. The -Fines-it Greenhouse Lettuce In Use. This variety has become famous on account of its superior shipping qualities, etc. It stands being packed closely without the leaves breaking, and when taken out will open tender, crisp and beautiful in shape. This lettuce will stand more heat or cold and sudden changes than any other variety known, hence its value for greenhouse or out-of-door culture. The quality is excellent. The Onondaga lettuce is no novelty. It is a necessity as every gardner in this county will tell you. It has been grown here for years, and is popular on account of its many good qualities, and in seasons when the seed has been scarce, our gardeners have tried all named varieties in Catalogues in hopes of get- ting the same, but never found the same sort. This is the reason we call it Onon- daga. Our stock this season is fine. We are in shape to supply the trade both wholesale and retail at a very much reduced price. We should add that the color when grown in a greenhouse is light green. If exposed to the sun it will be slightly tinged, and when grown out of doors it becomes quite brown. It does not run to seed easily and will grow to immense size if transplanted thinly. Retail price, 20 cts. ox., $ lb. Musliroom Spawn. Champignon Brot, German. Champignon, French.
