The well known Camosciara is one of the most important attractions of the Abruzzo, Lazio e Molise National Park, founded in 1923 and the oldest in the Apennines, with an important role in the preservation of species such as the Italian Wolf, Abruzzo Chamois (Rupicapra Pyrenaica Ornata, an exclusive sub-specie of Pyrenaic Chamois) and Marsican Brown Bear.
