In 1857, Orrin H. Burdick manufactured about onehundred of these machines for Dean, Machachin & 1858, Ross, Dodge and Pomeroy, in connection & Co., manufactured the same machines in theprison, and Barber, Sheldon & Co., who succeeded Sheldon& Co. in the prison, continued their manufacture up to 1866.
