When fully grown, the larva(Fig. 1976) measures about sevenlines in length, and is of a yel-lowish-white color; the first segment behind the head is greatlydilated on each side, and the last segment is armed with twodark brown horns, each with three teeth on the inner edge. Itassumes the pupa form within the gall in April or May, andthe perfect beetle (Fig. 197c) issues in the course of a few weeks. This species has been reported to me as infesting the black-berry in this State, but I have not seen any specimens. Remedies.—Use No. 27, 28, 37, or CHAPTER CXVI.
