Few, if any, pumpkins can equal the Winter Luxury for cookingâin fact, one of our gro\^ers, who knows all varieties, is emphatic in stating that " it is the best puynpkingrown. foi' ; Unfortunately, it is extensively advertised imder three other names,â"Queen Pumpkin," "Pie Pumpkin" and "Pie ; Under whichever name, if you plant the pure seed you will find it will uni- formly produce handsome, little, round pump- kins, like the illustration, with smooth, yellow skin, covered with gray netting. The seed cavity is extremely smalt âall the balance being solid meat throughout^ which is of extra fine quality. The seeds are curiously sculptvu'ed in the manner of Chinese letters. It is a very pro- ductive variety, ripen early, of medium size, good keepers, and weigh fifteen to twenty pounds each. As to their quality, "no other pumpkin that has ever been introduced can vie with the Japan- ese for their excellent qualities and exceedingly fine flavor -when cooked.
