A close-up view of 9 colorized commemorative state coins, minted in the years 2003 through 2006.
A close up view of an American coin collection of colorized commemorative state quarters, complete with listed state capitols and the years the states entered the Union. In 1999 the federal US government began making commerative quarters in chronological order for each state and each state provided their own coin design. Pictured are 9 coins minted from 2003 through 2006. 5 coins are minted each year and all 50 states will be completed by the end of 2008. Looking closely you can see the imperfections in the colorizing process. But don't look too closely, just enjoy their beauty and uniqueness.
