London Heathrow Airport, London, UK. 8th Oct, 2020. British Airways had a pair of retired Boeing 747 Jumbo Jets in storage at Heathrow, grounded after premature retirement due to the COVID-19 damage to the travel industry. Registration G-CIVB took off first in bad weather, and is in a special retro scheme to celebrate BA's centenary in 2019. It has flown 59 million miles and will be saved as a museum piece at Cotswold Airport. G-CIVY followed and is in standard BA livery, turning and making a 'missed approach' back over the airport passing the tower, before it headed off likely for scrap
