Steamship Imperator, a former German liner, is seen being maneuvered into a slip at Pier 4 in Hoboken, New Jersey. The ship is making its first trip under the American flag and its first voyage since 1914. On board are 3,190 troops. The German name and Imperial crown can still be seen on the ship's bow. This photograph was taken by Lt. Lyon on May 26th, 1919. The description was issued by BECO with the symbol 5-22-19. The ship's identification number is 53846.
