A recruit from Golf Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, provides security during the Crucible at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., June 27. The Crucible is the culminating event which evaluates all the knowledge and skills taught at recruit training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Golf Company is scheduled to graduate July 13.
