BREVET COLONEL WILLIAM HENRY HARRISON, Brevet Colonel William Henry Harrison has aRevolutionary ancestry. His great-grandfather, WilliamHarrison, at the commencement of the RevolutionaryWar joined the standard of revolt, and raised, at his ownexpense, a company of New Jersey troops, of which hewas commissioned captain. He served in the field duringa great portion of the war. Colonel Harrison was born in Philadelphia July 19,[841, and graduated at the Central High School in [ entered the University at Lewisburg, Pennsylvania,the same year, and was graduated from that institutionin June, [861. Through his own personal endeavor hereceived from the Honorable Simon Cameron, Secretaryof War, an appointment in the regular army, ami wascommissioned second lieutenant Second United StatesCavalry November 30, 1861.
