W henthis cooled and hardened more limestone was deposited on top of it,which is why it now looks like a horizontal ribbon running throughthose lofty gray limestone precipices. In some parts of the park near the north there are remnants ofother strata which surmounted the Siyeh limestone, but they are soinfrequent that they interest only the geologists.
