An Avar sword, Hungary, 9th/10th centuries. Heavy, slender single-edged blade with a double-edged point. Narrow fuller just below the back of the blade on both sides and a sleeve over the base of the blade. Short quillons with spherical finials. Slightly bent tang with two grip rivets preserved. Cleaned excavation discovery.
